She was predeceased by: her husband John Joseph Murphy, Sr.; her parents, Lester Wheeler and Edith Mae Ming Wheeler; and her son John Joseph Murphy, Jr.. She is survived by: her brother Wayne Wheeler; and her daughters, Janette Scott (Theirn) of Atlanta, GA and Bernadette Kennedy (Bernard) of Medford, MA.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren as well as 10 Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. (318 E Drinker St, Dunmore, PA 18512). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (801 Taylor Ave, Scranton, PA 18510).
