We bid farewell to Robert McHugh of Scranton, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 15, 2025 at the age of 86. Robert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary McHugh (Peel) and Dr. Thomas McHugh; his sister Mary Fran Walsh (McHugh); and his brother-in-law James Walsh. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen (Scheaffer); his daughters, Mary Kate McHugh, MD (Randy Wade) of Hollywood, Florida and Kathleen McHugh, MD (Joseph Marine, MD) of Cockeysville, MD; his grandchildren, Julia, Thomas and Teddy; his brother-in-law Monsignor Walter Scheaffer; his niece Maura Walsh Rogan (Chris Rogan); his great-nephews, James, John and Michael; his niece Jennifer Walsh Boyle (Edward Boyle); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Connor, Sophie and Quinn. He is also survived by many cousins and close friends.
A Mass was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 6:30 AM at the Scranton's St. Peter's Cathedral (315 Wyoming Ave, Scranton, PA 18503). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel (1605 Oram St, Scranton, PA 18504).
