Walter J. Evans Obituary

With solemn reverence, we commemorate Walter J. Evans (Scranton, Pennsylvania), whose life came to an end on July 7, 2025 at the age of 76, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Evans and Alice Walton Evans; his siblings, Alice Guerin (Bill) and Geveo Evans (Chrissy); his nephew Corey Evans (Bill Evans); and his sister-in-law Jane Evans.

He is survived by: his children, Catherine Marinaro (Vince), Christine Evans, Denise Gola (Brian), Roaring Brook Twp and Daniel Evans (Heather); and his siblings, Karen Freeman (Bill), Diane Coyle (Jack), Betsy Powell and Thomas Evans. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Paul's Church (1510 Penn Ave, Scranton, PA 18509). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #25, 2291 Rockwell Avenue, Scranton, PA 18508, to continue Wally's devotion to his fellow Veterans.
