He is survived by : his children, MaryAlice Merchant (Jeffrey) of Sharon, PA and Charles Ference Jr. (Paula) of Hermitage, PA; his grandsons, Michael Porterfield (Dallas Kovach), Ethan, Connor, Trevor and Spencer; and his stepgrandchildren, Shane Merchant (Casie), Steven Merchant (Ashley) and Katelynn Anderson (Brian).

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. (2630 E State St, Hermitage, PA 16148). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the John Flynn Funeral Home Chapel (2630 E State St, Hermitage, PA 16148).
