He was predeceased by: his parents, William Powell and Patricia Griffith (Blackburn); and his brothers-in-law, Charles Werner, Paul "Skip" Walton and Jack Bukovinsky.

He is survived by: his children, Michele Jones (Eric) of Allison Park, PA, Jennifer Messer of Watha, NC and William R. Griffith (Jill) of Reynolds; the mother of his children Crystal Griffith of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Jordan (Morgan Griffith), Tyler, Kaelyn and Asher (Carissa Jones); his great grandchild Kimberly Griffith; his siblings, Carole Werner of Masury, OH, Joan Walton of Hermitage, Marilyn Borawski (Dennis) of Holland, Mich. and Edward Griffith (Janie) of Sharon; his sister-in-law Carol Bukovinsky of Sharpsville; and his close friend Gayle Cione.
