Steven J. Mychayliw Obituary

Steven J. Mychayliw, 78, of Roaring Brook Twp. died Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center following an illness. His wife is the former Mary Ann Kronick, who died July 29, 2020.

Born June 19, 1944 in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Dominica (Esposito) Mychayliw. Steven was a graduate of West Scranton High School and Penn State University. He was a Marine Corps veteran. Prior to his retirement, Steven was employed by Yellow Tucking Inc. He previously was employed in transportation, and with the Kronick Lumber Company for many years.

He was an exceptional man, thoughtful, empathetic and wise. His life was undoubtedly his family. Steve made everyone feel so special. He was unbelievable caring and unconditionally loving. He was an honorable gentleman, he served as a Marine and upheld our country's dignity. He was most proud of his beautiful grandchildren and of course, his "girls" that were by his very side until the end. If you knew him then you would understand that he will be beyond missed because he was a gift to this world and touched everyone he met.

Surviving are his daughters, Stephanie M. Masterson and husband Brendan of Spring Brook Twp.; Stacie S. Short of Front Royal, Va.; and Carisa V. Mychayliw of Roaring Brook Twp.; his grandchildren, Logan and fiancee Emeline, Liam, Cade and Dominica; his brother, William F. Mychayliw of Dunmore; and his nephews, William and Mark Mychayliw.

In addition to his parents and wife, Steven was preceded in death by his brother, William Joseph Mychayliw; and sister-in-law, Concetta Mychayliw.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Eulalia's Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Twp.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Entombment will be conducted at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Twp.
