He was predeceased by: his father Larry Lackey. He is survived by: his mother Anne Lackey; his sisters, Lindsay Doherty and Shannon Lackey; his brothers-in-law, Mark Doherty and James Riebel; and his nieces, Laila and Falyn. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made in Kyle's name to a meaningful charity of the donor's choice.
