He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin and Mary Shirk (Herr); and his siblings, Arthur, David, Alma, Mabel, Margaret, Hilda, Lillian, Frances and Janice.
He is survived by: his children, Richard A. Shirk (Cathy), Stephen H. Shirk, Michael E. Shirk, Randy E. Shirk (Mary) and Mary E. Martz (late Michael). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
