Irene Krothe Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on August 9, 2025, at the age of 89, Irene Krothe of Shickshinny, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Irene may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Irene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Pennington and Miltona Pennington (White); her husband Jay Allen Krothe; and her brothers, Ted and Edward Pennington.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lori Lee Sorber (Andrew) of Hunlock Creek and Bonnie Sue Krothe of Shickshinny; her grandson Andrew Sorber, Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Dale Krothe of Berwick, Donna Krothe Goobic of Lake Pinecrest, Kay Krothe Wolfe (Mark) of Shickshinny and Joyce Krothe of Bloomington, IN. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
