He was predeceased by: his father Carroll John "C. J." Simmons; his pet Tova; and his brothers, Bruce J. Simmons and Alan John "A. J." Simmons. He is survived by: his mother Harriet Simmons (Metrolis); his daughters, Samantha Forster (Ben) of Reading, PA and Tessa Cardi (James) of Reading, PA.; his grandchildren, Parker Forster and Leo Forster; his sister Sharon L. Maiolie (Michael) of South Carolina; Louie, Karma and Haven.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (3300 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:30 PM at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ - Fleetwood (5 W Arch St, Fleetwood, PA 19522).

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Judes Children Hospital.
