Words of sympathy

Chance Wayne Powell wrote a sympathy message

“Pete will forever be remembered by me as my second father. Hacing spent countless hours on the football field and at Big Pond with him, his stories and words of wisdom are etched in my memory. Pete had a way of making everyone he was around feel welcome. I will never forget the time in which I asked him if he would mind me naming my son after his son...Lek. He looked at me with a big old smile and, took a puff on his cigar and said he would be honored. That's just Pete. Our trip to Tennessee comes to mind as well. I will miss my friend and mentor, but I know I will see Pete again. Why?? I know he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Thank you Pete for your friendship, the laughs, the talks at Big Pond, but most of all your caring mentorship of all of us. Love you big fella!!!”
