He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Steele and Mary Klingensmith Steele; his great grandchild Henry; his brother Vaughn Steele; his parents-in-law, Gerald and Beatrice Wirt; and his brother-in-law Robert Wirt.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Wirt; his daughters, Laurie O'Neil (Bob LaRocca) of Knox and Amy Womelsdorf (Rob) of Colorado; his grandchildren, Katie Bashline of Shippenville, Jeff Womelsdorf (Kaci) of Colorado and Becky Womelsdorf of California; his great grandchildren, Emilia of Colorado and Delilah Womelsdorf of Colorado; and his siblings-in-law, Gerri Kay Towsey of Port Royal and Steve Wirt of Mifflintown. He is also survived by six nephews.
