He was predeceased by: his parents, John Everette and Betty Jane Coon (Yoder); his son John William Coon; his brother Lester Coon; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Slaughenhaupt and Don Buzard.
He is survived by: his children, Nicole Guigma, Matthew Coon and Justin Coon (Emily); his siblings, Mary Slaughenhaupt, Brenda "Suzie" Buzard and Robert Coon; and his grandchildren, Vanessa Coon, Jayden Coon, Damian Coon, Rhea Coon and Everette Coon.
