We bid farewell to John C. Schwarzel of Sigel, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 23, 2025 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth L. Schwarzel and Mary Evelyn Schwarzel (Ferrington); his wife Elayne Schwarzel (Deegan); and his siblings, Kenneth W. Schwarzel, Janet Allebach and Joanne Shelby-Klein.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Born (Herman) of Calabash, NC and John "Jack" Schwarzel of Export, PA; his granddaughters, Jenna DuPlessis (Tyler) of Lancaster, WI, Jillan Newcomer (David) of Wilmington, NC and Jaidyn-Marley Schwarzel of Ypsilanti, MI; his great grandchild D. J. Newcomer; and his brother Joseph E. Schwarzel of Cheswick, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hart Funeral Home (3103 Lillian Ave, Murrysville, PA 15668). A masonic service will be held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in John's name to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA, 15857.
