He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard J. Carey, Sr. and Madeline M. Cullen Carey; his wife Donna J. Simpson; and his brothers, Michael Carey and Bern Carey.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Carey (Paula) of North East, MD and Colin Carey (Caitlin) of Ramona, CA; his close friend Kathleen Krouse of Summerville; and his siblings, Tom Carey (Beth) of Canton, GA and Maggie "Margie" Yoder (Bill) of Waynesboro, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home (638 Wood St, Clarion, PA 16214). The military honors was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the American Legion Post #066.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Daniel's honor to the Clarion Free Library, 644 Main Street, Clarion, PA 16214.
