He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Wetzel and Roberta Wetzel (Whitmore); his wife Gladys Vogle; his son Ronald E. Wetzel Jr.; his siblings, Barbara Young, Doris Goughler, Betty Levy and Marvin Wetzel; and his close friend Toni Fickenworth.
He is survived by: his daughter Bonnie Gilbert (Barry) of Sligo; his grandchildren, Ashley Guntrum (Michael) of Sligo, Kevin Wetzel (Renee) of Sligo, Kim Cooper (Brian) of Industry, PA. and John Wetzel; and his great grandchildren, Kya, Kolstin, Eli, Easton and Tallon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Varner Funeral Home (1632 Bald Eagle St, Sligo, PA 16255). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
