He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Paul Schmidt and Genevieve Schmidt (Franklin); his son Paul P; and his son-in-law Phil Yenkala. He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Blom (Denny), Sue Midberry (Tom) and Patty End. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
