We announce the death of Dixie L. McGavisk of Smethport, Pennsylvania, born in Kane, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 84. Dixie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Hewitt and Wilma Stickles Chesnut; her grandson Kruze Carpenter; her sister Karla Hewitt; and her stepbrothers, Ted, Rick and Larry Chesnut.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Young of Florence, SC, Julie McGavisk of Eldred, Kathy McGavisk Carpenter of Smethport and John Jay McGavisk of Bradford; her grandchildren, Brandon, Tiffany, Justin, Heather, Kody, Ryanna and Kylar; her great grandchildren, Breawna, Jordan, Brock, Bailey, Koda, Maggie, Everett, Arya, Jonahs, Jax, Loerali, Isaiah and Kendall; and her sisters, Bonnie Conklin of Clarendon and Judie Kahle of Cuba, NY..
