The family announces the passing of Robert L. Okerlund of Smethport, Pennsylvania on September 25, 2026. Robert, born on December 21, 1949, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Okerlund and Gayle Okerlund; his in-laws, Ed and Betty Fox; his brothers, Roger Okerlund and Bill Okerlund; his siblings-in-law, Pete Carpenter and Linda Okerlund; and his pet Kippy.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Okerlund (Fox); his children, David Okerlund (Tanya) of Smethport and Lisa Smith (Rod) of Kane; his grandsons, Keaton Rounsville (Hally) of Kane, Izaiah Smith (Sarri) of Kane, Rodney Smith II of Kane and Jonah Smith (Camryn) of Kane; his great grandchildren, Jericho Rounsville, Scarlett Hawk, Addilynn Smith and Tripp Smith; and his siblings, Jerry Okerlund (Muriel) of Gifford, Donna Kay Carpenter of Port Deposit and Debbie Plummer (Dick) of Brooksville, Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc. (2 Bank St, Smethport, PA 16749). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hilltop Baptist Church (3695 PA-646, Gifford, PA 16732).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gifford Hilltop Baptist Church-Building Fund.
