He is survived by: his wife Mildred J. Matia (Duke); his children, Margaret Rudolph, John Matia (Pamela), Timothy Matia, Mark Matia (Chrissie), Sue Ann Matia (Don Nolder) and Paul Matia (Lorraine); his sister Sister Frances; and his grandchildren, John Matia (Desiree), Andrew Matia (Amanda), Anna Matia, Krista Matia (Erich Herzig), Alexa Hargenrader (JJ), Emily Fortenbaugh (Colton), Jessica Rudolph and Nathan Rudolph. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
