He is survived by: his wife Patricia Holcomb; his sons, Jeff Johnson (Carla), Jim Johnson (Stacy) and Pat Johnson (Kelly); his grandchildren, Jaden, Nathan, Caleb, Ryan, Brooklynn, Callie, Blake, Joey and Nellie; his sister Nancy Fritz (Bill); his cousin Tom Darby; and his nieces, Melanie Moyer (David) and Monica Shope (Steve).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Nelson's name to Bible Fellowship Community Church.
