Donald C Moorhead Obituary

Donald "Donnie" C Moorhead, 65, of Smock Pa passed away on Wednesday March 23, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Donald and Anna Lee Moorhead.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years Patricia "Patty" Moorhead. Son Curt Moorhead of Irwin, Pa. Step-daughter Jessica and husband John Cavallo of Grindstone, Pa. Step-son Joel Horwath of Uniontown, Pa. Brother Dan and Judy Smith of Middleburgh, Fl. Sister Linda and Husband Brian Jones of Largo, Fl. Sister Judi and husband Adam Proios of Seminole, Fl. Very special cousin Sandy Damico of Seminole, Fl. Father-in-law Harold Lake and Mother-in-Law Joan Lake. Sister-in-law Shari Lake and Brother-in-law Richard Lake. And many nieces and nephews.

Donnie was born on May 6, 1956 at Westmoreland Hospital of Jeannette. He graduated from Norwin High School in 1974. Afterwards he pursued a career with Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he choose the path of signal maintainer for the better part of thirty years, on the Pittsburgh subdivision.

Donnie was a devoted husband and father, and avid motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed beach trips surrounded by family and friends. He could be often be found relaxing by the pool with his beloved dogs Bella, Tinkerbell, and Zoey. He prided himself in being a problem solver, not only at work but also in tackling home improvement projects. He was a man not only filled with wise cracks and good jokes, but also an abundance of wisdom, kindness, and love. He will be deeply missed by wife, family, and all who knew him.

There will be a memorial for Donnie on 4/1/22 at 4pm at New life free Methodist church in Smock, Pa friends and family are welcome.
