We announce the death of David Nicholson Sr. of Somerset, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 87. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Nicholson and Mae Nicholson (O'Brien); his wife Ruth Ann Walker; and his siblings, Arlene Defebo, Mary Alice Alochney, Karen Nicholson, Glenn, Kenneth Nicholson, Sandra Reckner, Dalton "Jay" Nicholson and Bonita Miller.
He is survived by: his sons, David E. Nicholson Jr. of Everett and Robert E. Weimer Jr. (Susan) of Somerset; his grandchildren, Lisa Phillippi (Jeffrey), Charles R. Weimer (Beth), Jodie L. Lensbouer (Matthew), Angela S. Weimer-Miller (Andrew) and Gavin E. Nicholson; and his sisters, Beverly Harbaugh and Palma Long. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services (494 W Main St, Somerset, PA 15501). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Somerset County Honor Guard 139 W Union St, Somerset, PA 15501.
