He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Hyer and Icy Elizabeth Hyer (Douglas); his wife Elsie Hyer (Garis); his son Frank L. Bencsik; his granddaughter Jamie Joy Bencsik; and his siblings, Calvin, Harvey, C. Huey Hyer and Sarah Lemonine Goheen.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory J. Bencsik (Kathleen) of Sellersville, Christopher T. Bencsik (Gayle) of Souderton, Bradley J. Hyer (Sara) of Souderton and Kathleen D. DeMeyere (John Buell) of Green Lane; his daughter-in-law Cindy Bencsik of Huntingdon; his grandchildren, Justin, Adam, Dan, Talia, Tyler, Chelsie, Morgan, Calvin, Nate, Dylan and Connor; his great grandchildren, Graham, Owen, Ella, Kinsey, Anya, Ilana, Aliyah, Andon, Olivia, Luke, Eve, Damien, Blake and Trent; and his sister Mary Steinheimer (Robert) of Adamstown, MD..
