He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph W. and Mary K. Gunder (Walsh); his sister Regina Horan; and his sisters-in-law, Helen Pepe and Grace Pepe.
He is survived by: his wife Rita J. Gunder (Pepe); his children, John Gunder, Jr. (Megan), Cynthia Romero (Juan), Lisa Sudderth (Tom), Pam Neely (John) and Jeffrey Gunder (Ellen); his grandchildren, Mary, Elizabeth, Grace, Henry, Will, Jack, Warner, Sam, Alex, Max, Lilly and Wyatt; his siblings, Mary Ann O'Brien (Jim), Joseph Gunder, Jr. (Joan) and Teresa Doogan (late John); and his extended family, Mary Yankowski (Tony), Gloria Harris (late Jim) and Carol Pepe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
