He is survived by: his wife Constance M. "Connie" Wirfel (Watt); his children, Scott (Alysia (Rocker)) and Diana (Mike Miller); his grandchildren, Allison (David Rahuba), Jarod Wirfel, Brayden and Bodee Miller; his siblings, Joyce (Larry Byrne), Bruce (Evelyn Cook), Amy (Gary Haluska) and Alan (Jean Link); and his sister-in-law Chris Wirfel (Henry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
