He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shaffer and Genevieve Shaffer (Newcomer); his son Craig Shaffer; and his brothers, Donald and Gary Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Lura A. (Shumway); his children, Julie Williams (Tom) of North Carolina, Scott Shaffer (Dawn) of South Williamsport and Todd Shaffer (Alycia) of South Williamsport; his grandchildren, Johnathan Williams, Max, Lewis Shaffer, Riley, Caitlyn Shaffer, Bronwyn, Emily Shaffer and Emily Burrows (Travis); and his sister Gail Woodring (Henry) of Rauchtown. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
