He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilbur L., Sr. and Louise V. Smith (Cowan); his sons, Kevin L. Smith and Lance R. Smith; and his siblings, Robert H. Smith and Jean L. Smith.

He is survived by : his wife Joan L. Smith (Bampton); his children, David S. Smith, Laura M. Gechter and Diane Louise Mancuso; his stepdaughter Aimee Najarian; his grandchildren, Michael Smith, John Ryan, Erica Mecleary, Katrina Gechter, Joseph Mancuso and Dominic Mancuso; and his great grandchildren, Micah Smith, Noah Mecleary and Lilah Mecleary.
