He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Schnell and Martha A. Schnell (Sattler); and his siblings, Joseph Schnell, Martha Mazeikas and Robert Schnell.

He is survived by: his wife Irene Schnell of Limerick Twp; his children, Frank Schnell (Karen) of Odenton, MD, Patty Schwartz of Leonardtown, MD, Rene Schmidt (Greg) of Pottstown, PA, Kathy Foley (Gary) of Trappe, PA and Tom Schnell (Lauren) of Spring City, PA; and his brother Vince Schnell of Cherry Hill, NJ. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
