He was predeceased by: his wife Janet M. Markle (Bortner); his parents, Jacob Markle and Florence Markle (Sharp); and his brothers, Clair Markle, Ralph Markle, Dean Markle, Gerald Markle and Marlin Markle.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Sweeney (Patrick), Sharon Blecher (John) and Jane Posey (Leroy); his grandchildren, Derek, Jared, Brooke, Drew, Joshua and Sarah; and his sister Freda Stump. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren.
