It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Witmer of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold F. Witmer and Ruth E. Witmer (Sweigart); his grandson Marcus Horst; his siblings, Paul Witmer, Marvin Witmer and Phoebe Thompson (Richard); and his siblings-in-law, Moses Burkholder and Gwen Witmer.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Landis); his children, Pamela Witmer, Mike Witmer (Janelle), Steve Witmer (Sue), Kathy Maldaner (Bruce), Carolyn Horst (Linford) and Kimberly Good (Josh); his grandchildren, Ryan Witmer, Grace Witmer, Reese Maldaner, Cameron Maldaner, Theoren Maldaner, Kip Maldaner, Rachelle Horst, Kayla Horst, Javin Horst, Donovan Horst, Bryson Horst, Annelise Horst, Miles Good, Lucas Good, Ian Good, Greta Good, Colin Good and Molly Good; his siblings, Verna Horst (Irvin), Edith Burkholder Weaver (David), David Witmer (Elaine) and Miriam Sauder (Melvin); and his sisters-in-law, Marie Witmer and Esther Mae Witmer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bair's Mennonite Church (6925 York Rd, Hanover, PA 17331). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Bair's Mennonite Church (6925 Hanover Rd, Hanover, PA 17331).
