He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Lighty and Odessa M. Lighty (Blevins); his siblings, Daniel Lighty and Barbara Weitcamp; and his children, Mariah Jo, Amanda Jo and Joseph William.
He is survived by: his wife Diane L. Lighty (Pottorff); his children, Justin Lighty (Grace) and Hanna Harman (Teque); his grandchildren, Jordan, Jace, Evelyn, Alastair, Adelle, Jalyssa, Jayleigh, Jarrett, Tilden, Jensen, Julian and Cecily; and his siblings, Susan Eimerbrink (Don), Michael Lighty, Steven Lighty (Donna) and Nancy Schaffer (Andy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
