He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul I Desmond and Helen Mullen Desmond; his wife Helen McIntyre Desmond; his daughter Suzanne; and his brother Richard.
He is survived by: his children, Paul (Katharine) and Kerry Desmond Hall (John); his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Eric), Suzanne, Katharine, Matthew and John; his stepgrandson Gabriel; his stepgreat-grandson August; and his great grandchild David.
