Elizabeth Ann Herrold Obituary

Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Herrold, 67, of State College, entered her eternal rest on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at her home. Born on March 30, 1956, in East Liverpool, OH, she was the daughter of the late Russell Gamble and Jule Rose McGinty of State College. On April 17, 1993, in State College, she married the love of her life, Gregory S. Herrold, who survives at home.

Beth is survived by her mother, husband, one son, Alex Herrold of State College, one daughter, Natalia Herrold of DuBois, and three granddaughters: Sabrina, Anastasia, and Bella. She is also survived by three sisters: Jennie Wilcox and her husband, John, of Bellefonte, Patty McKiddy and her husband, Claude, of Big Spring, TX, and Erin McCool and her husband, Roy, of Huntingdon, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her father, Beth was preceded in death by one brother, William McGinty.

Beth was a 1975 graduate of Annville-Cleona Jr./Sr. High School. She was very proud that while attending art classes, she won 1st prize for a painting. During those years, she was also a Girl Scout whose troop hiked along the Appalachian Trail. She was a member of the Runville United Methodist Church.

Beth attended the Chattanooga College, Practical Nursing School, in Tennessee, the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music in Michigan and the seminary at Nyack College under the Christian Missionary Alliance denomination in New York.

She was a caregiver for many years for Kathleen Stewart, the NBC Radio Network's first pianist. After moving to State College, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Renaissance Nursing Home in State College and as a teacher's assistant at the Grace Lutheran Church Preschool and the Discovery Child Development. In addition to that, Beth served as a missionary to Venezuela and Columbia. She also went on a mission trip to Beaumont, Texas in flood recovery efforts.

Beth loved the Lord, singing with her husband accompanying her at the piano, painting, camping with her family, and playing with her granddaughters. She also enjoyed watching the birds through her bedroom window. Beth and Greg met doing music for weddings and got to know each other in (SALT) Single Adults Living the Truth in State College.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 16. 2024 from 1-2:30pm at the Runville United Methodist Church, 1216 Runville Road, Bellefonte. Memorial service will follow at 2:30pm at the church with Pastor Jeanette Desmond officiating.
