It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Miriam Owens Confer (State College, Pennsylvania), who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl D. Root and Margaret E. Stewart Root; her husband Clyde W. Confer; and her siblings, Ellen Sims, Caroline Schamris, Lillian Greene, Margaret Miles, Debra Dixon, Carl and Dewey Root.

She is survived by : her children, Steven W. "Jake" Confer of State College and Rebecca J. Chambers (Eric) of Snow Shoe; her grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas, Lindsay (Alex), Eric (Janene), Matthew (Caleigh), Levi (Annie) and Joseph; and her great grandchildren, Drew and Cambri.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Miriam's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
