He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Hinton (Lutz) and Milton Hinton; and his daughter Kimberly Hinton. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Hinton; his sons, Joshua Hinton (Erin Morgan) and Erik Hinton (Rachel Syme); his grandson Xavier Hinton; and his siblings, Mary Jo McElhenny and Kim Hinton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kimberly S. Hinton Memorial Scholarship Fund in Bloomington, Indiana, which supports students in the Indiana University dance department.
