Matthews of Stoneboro, Pennsylvania, born in Irwin, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles "Willard" Matthews and June E. Matthews (Walter); his wife Bette "Becky" Carnes; his brother Gaylord Matthews; and his nephew Brian G. Matthews.

He is survived by : his sons, Timothy Matthews (Barb) of Kennerdell, Terry Matthews (Kim) of Kennerdell, Curtis Matthews (Tammi) of Polk and Chris Matthews (Martha) of Kennerdell; his grandchildren, Kayla Jovenall (Frank), Patrick Matthews, Michael Lewis (Natalie), Adam Matthews (Courtney), Austin Matthews, Cole Matthews, Dalton Matthews, Madison Matthews, Camren Smith (Kassie), Brianne Dahl, Joe Dahl and Adie Dahl; his great grandchildren, Carter, Marshall, Brantley and Gabriel; his sister Shirley Anderson (A. David Mann) of Maine; and his sister-in-law Betty Matthews of Harrisville.
