He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Smart and Mildred Smart (Gephart). He is survived by: his children, Edgar Smart Jr. (Shelby), Terri Lynn Straps (Fred) and Douglas Smart (Kim); his grandchildren, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Lauren and Sammy; and his close friend Terri Lechman. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
