Janet Hess Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Hess of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 9, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Vought and Arlene Vought (Boyer); her husband Richard Hess; her son Russell Hess; her granddaughter Amanda Davis; and her sister-in-law Shirley Dodson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Davis (Keith Kunkel) of Tampa, Karen Clark (Stephen) of Knoxville and Linda Burke (Peter) of Devon, Pennsylvania; her granddaughters, Nicole Woodruff, Brianna Christian, Mary Beth Nix, Lindsey Clark and Elainey Williams; her great grandchildren, Ridley Woodruff, Kendall Woodruff, Ryan Davis, Bentley Christian, Alexis Christian, Dallas Christian, Lucas Nix, Judah Nix, Evolet Williams and Alyssa Clark; her siblings, Ronald Vought, Barbara Aten, Darla Henrie and Debbie Linn; and her brothers-in-law, Paul Dodson and Larry Hess (Brenda Farley). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church (223 E Broad St, Tamaqua, PA 18252).
