He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Rager (Foster) and Joseph C. Rager; his siblings, Russell D. Rager, Joseph D. Rager, Eileen Rager Freda Amash and Laura R. Luther; and his son-in-law Chris Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Candy L. Rager (Reitz); his daughter Jennifer Shaffer (Will); his grandson Owen Shaffer (Makayla); his sister Eleanor Isenberg of New Alexandria; and his parents-in-law, Cindy Page (Mark) of North Ridgeville, Greg Reitz (Valerie) of Oklahoma and Kim Kennedy (Allen) of Stanton.
