It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Cummings of Tioga, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford Cummings and Esther Cummings (White); his grandchildren, Anthony Hakes and Elisa; and his in-laws, Edith Tanner, Ossie Wilbur Slusser, Edward "Sonny" Tanner and Delores Diane Tanner.
He is survived by: his wife Laura; his children, Kevin Cummings (Mary) of Tioga, PA, Kelvin Cummings (Penny) of Lawrenceville, PA, Kelley Flack (Jeff) of Girard, PA and Karla Hakes (Kevin) of Lawrenceville, PA; his grandchildren, Angela, Scott, Chris, Josh, Cassandra, Britany, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Jennifer, Kristen, Tyrus, Taylor, Kyla, Elizabeth, Krista and Lexi; his adoptive son Bill Copp; and his in-laws, Betty Clark Decker, Katherine Albin Ferger, Michael, Gail Tanner, Bonnie and Gregory Kindall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. (637 S Main St, Mansfield, PA 16933). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the West Jackson Baptist Church (1714 Alder Run Rd, Millerton, PA 16936).
