He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Esmus and Louisa Roher Esmus; his wife Joyce L. Heskell; his children, Ronald and Karen Esmus; and his brother John Esmus.

He is survived by: his sons, Allan T. Esmus Jr. (Sherri) of Towanda and Chris Esmus (Patti) of Gillett; his grandchildren, Maureen (Ong), Maximillian and Karen (Chance); and his great grandchild Silas.
