He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Strohecker and Erma Strohecker (Schaffer); his siblings, Robert Strohecker, Lucille Maurer, Lawrence Strohecker, Albert Strohecker Jr., Alma Bordner and Mark Strohecker; and his significant other Mary Jane Heim.

He is survived by: his children, Melissa Miller (Ken), Cindy Shaffer (Daryl), Ann Strohecker, Dean Strohecker Jr., Tammy Ney (Jason), Traci Strohecker (Zach), Ryan Strohecker (Adrienne) and Julianne Reiner (Robert); and his siblings, Margaret Faye Wilkinson, Mabel Thomas, Patricia Kemble (Keith), Romaine Clough (Harold), Gene Strohecker (Kathy), Kenneth Strohecker (Sandra), David Strohecker (Shirley), Brenda Scheib (Daniel) and Glenda Klinger (Scott). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

It was Dean's wish to donate his body to science.
