He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur E. Koons and Margaret A. Koons VanFleet (Thomas); his wives, Margaret (Ferreire) and Janice (Ward); his stepson Phillip; his son-in-law David Orwan; and his grandson David Orwan.

He is survived by : his daughters, Debra Orwan of Bethlehem, Sandra Foulds (Tom) of Macungie and Ruthann Snyder of Allentown; and his stepsons, John Schrader (Ceris) of Bryans Road, MD and Steven Schrader (Deidre). He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 6 Step-grandchildren & 6 Great-grandchildren.
