He was predeceased by : his parents, John F. Shaffer and Beatrice Fielding Shaffer. He is survived by : his wife Janice Maureen Fenwick Shaffer; and his children, Cassandra Bell, Mary Lu Shaffer, Susan Shaffer, John Shaffer (Donna) and Sara Shaffer-Greene. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
