He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward M. Dunkel and LaRue Dunkel Jr. (Weaver); his sisters, N. Jane Harris and Dorothy Mae Barninger; and his stepmother Betty Dunkel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Dunkel (McCoy); his daughters, Becky Lea Hess (Ronald Lee) and Carol Jean Mowery (Warren Jr.); his grandchildren, Maura Elisabeth Brown, Ethan Moore Hess, Asa McCoy Hess, Joel Rei Hess and Quinn Edward Mowery; and his siblings, Barbara Jean Friday, Donna Kay Walker, Linda Sue Yaudes, Karen Marie Harpster, James Ronald and Timothy Lee Dunkel.
