We are sad to announce that on January 2, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Effie Mae Allen of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Effie Mae Allen to show support.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Clarence L. Nearhoof and Gertie E. Nearhoof (Leister); her husband Richard "Dick" Allen; her sons, Larry and Michael Stroup; and her grandson Christopher Stroup.

She is survived by : her children, Linda Wertz, Buddy Stroup (Barb) of Tyrone and Mitchell Stroup (Valerie) of Mobile, AL; her stepdaughter Vicky Lang (Steve); and her grandchildren, Chad Reese, Jessica Wertz, Travis Stroup, Kristie Smithe, Justin Stoup, Dustin, Mikayla and Michelann Stroup. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
