She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Hanzes and Frances Hanzes (Stepanik); her spouse Thomas J. Shaffer; and her siblings, Mary Ann Pierce and Michael Hanzes.
She is survived by: her children, Suzie Carothers (Dave), Jamie Gonzales (Louis) and Tom Shaffer (Judy); her grandchildren, Sara, Brian, Georgia, Joel and Kyle; her great grandchildren, Bosun and Kent; her sister Evelyn Hensh; and her brother-in-law Paul. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home (603 N Gallatin Ave Ext, Uniontown, PA 15401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Therese Church (61 Mill St, Uniontown, PA 15401).
