He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P. Sumego and Anna Rose Spirko Sumego; his brother-in-law Roger Caplinger; and his nephew William "Bill" McGaffick. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Sumego of Uniontown; his sons, Edward J. Sumego, Jr. (Heather) of Levittown, PA and David Sumego (Jessica) of Holt, MI; his grandchildren, Abigail, Ethan, Levi, Allen, Christopher and Emma; his sisters, Roseann Caplinger of Akron, OH and Debi Fronczek (Syl) of Uniontown; his cousin Kathy Shotter; and his brothers, Bob and Sonny.
