He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson G. Hess and Ruth Ann Hess. He is survived by: his wife Joan Hess (McPherson); his sons, Jared Hess (Alexandra), Dustin Hess (Lexi) and Clay Hess; his siblings, Cindy Swartzwelder, Suzanne Watt and Richard Hess (Ruthanne); and his grandchildren, Crew Hess, Virginia Hess and Charles Hess.
